The Rathluba Dog Off-Leash Area in East Maitland is a well-maintained official dog park that provides a beautiful and spacious environment for your furry friend to roam freely. Located at 23 Lochend Cct, this park features amenities such as children's playgrounds and areas for bird watching. There's also shelter available for picnics, making it a great spot for a day out with both kids and pets. Many visitors appreciate the park's large area, especially during quieter hours like 6 AM when there may be fewer dogs around. It's important to note that while the park is generally safe for dogs, there are specific fencing conditions to be aware of. The fence along the cattle area has mesh fencing to prevent dogs from slipping through, but the left side near the lagoon features a six-strand wire fence for horses and goats, which may not be as secure. Additionally, there are new signs advising against letting dogs off-leash near the lagoon to protect local wildlife, as dogs have been known to disturb the birds. Overall, Rathluba Dog Off-Leash Area is an enjoyable spot for dog owners, provided you keep these guidelines in mind for a safe visit.

Beautiful large area Well maintained Has kids playground, has a bird watching area, has shelter for picnics. No other dogs there at 6am, which was great. The fence line with cattle on it (opposite to the lagoon) has mesh fencing to stop dogs slipping through, the fence line(horses and goats) closer to the left side of the lagoon does not have mesh fence(just 6 strand wire). This area is also an equine exercise area. They have added signs this year to communicate not to let offleash dogs near the lagoon as dogs were pestering the birds.
