This is a beautiful, big park with lots of trees and some lovely people. It is currently undergoing work to create a safe place for small dogs to exercise, after which I’ll probably rate the park 5 stars. The only problem with this park is there is no option to exercise either with really little dogs, or when an owner won’t call their dog away - I did arrive one evening and had to carry my nervous pup who is still learning to socialise past a Border Collie that wasn’t being called away, even though I called out to the owner that my pup was overwhelmed and needed space (we couldn’t even get in the gate). I ended up having to carry my puppy past, whilst being jumped on by the Border Collie, while the owner sat on her phone. Had there been a second park I would have just taken her in there so they could socialise through the fence and spare my puppy the overwhelm (and allow the poor Border Collie to get some love through the fence). This type of thing is inherent at any dog park, but having the option to go into another section is a godsend when it’s needed.
