About This Park

Sherwood Park is home to a fantastic official dog park that's perfect for your furry friends! With an expansive off-leash area, your pups can run freely and enjoy some quality playtime. The park also features a shaded seating area where you can relax while keeping an eye on your dogs. Plus, there’s free parking nearby, making it easy to access this dog-friendly space. Although it doesn’t have all the amenities—like a fully fenced area or water fountains—you’ll find plenty of trails to explore and maybe even some wildlife to spot along the way. One of the highlights is the connectivity to Rundle and Capilano parks, providing an extended adventure for you and your pups. Keep in mind that the off-leash zone is on the left side near the river valley, so remember to navigate accordingly! Many visitors have found it to be a great spot to tire out their dogs, and with a rating of 4.3 stars based on user experiences, your canine companions are sure to have a memorable outing here. Interestingly, Sherwood Park has a rich history, originally established as a summer resort area in the 1900s before becoming a suburban community. The park reflects the town’s commitment to providing green spaces for both residents and their pets, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beauty of Alberta’s outdoors. Whether it's a casual stroll or a vigorous romp, this park is a lovely place for your dogs to socialize and unwind. 🐾

This park was decent enough to tire out the pups. It doesn't loop though, but it does connect to both Rundle and Capilano park depending on which way you walk. As a general note, when coming into the park, the offleash zone is the left (near the river valley) and going straight leads to cross country ski area (non-leash) area. The signage isn't super noticeable. Overall the pups had a good time and are tuckered out. 🐾
