Redwood Park Fairy Forest in Surrey, BC, is a dog-friendly haven for pet owners looking to enjoy nature with their furry friends. The park features clean, flat walking paths and a variety of trails, including quieter routes to the south, perfect for letting dogs explore off-leash—just be mindful to leash them up if you encounter other visitors, as not everyone may be comfortable with dogs. After a rain, the trails may get muddy, but the spacious fields provide ample opportunity for playing fetch, making it a great spot for active pups. In addition to dog-friendly amenities, the park offers delightful picnic areas, including one near a playground that kids will enjoy. Don’t miss the enchanting fairy forest, where you and your little ones can discover hundreds of whimsical fairy houses nestled in the trees. However, for those focusing on dog reactivity, it might be wise to proceed with caution, as many dogs roam freely. Overall, Redwood Park combines fun for the whole family, including your four-legged companions.

Nice clean walk with a flat path. Will be muddy after rain. Completely empty on weekdays. Some of the trails conclude in a large field where dog owners play fetch with their pups. Pass on this park if you are working on reactiveness, as 90% of dog owners have their dogs off-leash (although I didn’t see a sign for off leash trails, only the park sign that states on-leash only).
Redwood Park is awesome! There are lots of trails to the south of the main path that don’t have a lot of people on them, so pups can quite safely explore. Leash up if someone comes along as not everyone is comfortable with dogs. There are really nice picnic areas, either by the playground, or a quiet spot is down in the meadow under the big walnut tree. If you’ve got kids, the playground is really fun. But the highlight is discovering the fairy forest with hundreds of little fairy houses hanging in trees and tucked into roots. Magical!
