Hampton Park, located along the Trans-Canada Hwy in Ottawa, ON, is an official dog park that offers a designated area for dogs to enjoy some off-leash fun. However, potential dog owners should exercise caution based on recent user experiences. While many appreciate the chance for dogs to socialize and the adjacent walking paths, several reviews highlight safety concerns, including muddy conditions, poorly maintained gates with large gaps, and reports of aggressive dog behavior leading to injuries. It's essential for dog owners considering a visit to be vigilant and perhaps visit during less crowded times to monitor dog interactions closely. The park's amenities are limited, and there could be challenges with the park's maintenance. Despite its potential for enjoyable dog meetups, safety precautions are critical when visiting Hampton Park to ensure a positive experience for both dogs and their owners.

Extremely muddy, broken gates, large gaps between gates and fences and gates and the ground; dogs could easily get out. Not a secure or safe park.
Hey everyone, a caution to dog owners that use this park! This may be long but bare with me…My 7 month old lab and I were both attacked by 3 large dogs in early December. We were both bit by two different dogs. My pup ended up needing a staple and was cut in two areas, and I am dealing with some long term issues from being bit on my forearm and hand. While the dogs were all playing just fine with no warning signs, suddenly 1 of the 3 large dogs snapped on my puppy and the other 2 large dogs joined and had my puppy pinned to the ground and yelping for dear life! I watched in disbelief as the owners of the large dogs did nothing to remove their dogs so I stepped in to prevent my puppy from being injured (obviously was too late) and this is how I managed to get bit myself. I confronted the owners and asked for their details which they were reluctant to provide. After arguing back and forth with me, me being a 23 year old girl and them being two middle aged men, they provided me phone numbers which I found to be fake. Aside from a hefty vet bill and trauma for my poor pup nothing came of it so I feel the need to warn other owners in the area!

Always love going to Hampton. So fun for dog meetups! Plus if the fenced in area is too busy then there are paths to walk along. What more could you want?
