The track is on-leash and all uphill in a bush setting, it takes 15-30 mins depending on your fitness level. At the top, there are views of Cornwallis beach, Whatipu, Waitākere Ranges, Manukau Harbour and Manukau Heads. There are no amenities so BYO water and poop bags. We always sit on the monument steps for a rest once we get to the top. There's a grassy area surrounding the monument and lots of bird life. Free parking is at the track entrance, beware slips and hazards on the narrow road leading up to the carpark.
