If you're a dog owner looking for a great spot to enjoy the outdoors with your furry friend, Long Bay Beach on the Te Araroa Trail in Auckland is an excellent choice. This dog-friendly park allows dogs off-leash after 5 PM during the summer months, making it a perfect time for evening strolls by the beach. Keep an eye out for signage that updates owners on areas where dogs are permitted while enjoying the stunning stretch of sand. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the grassy reserves, and only the first two parking areas from the Torbay end are designated for dog parking. A unique feature of this park is the "stick library" located on your way to the beach, ensuring your pup has plenty of toys to play with. For those interested in a scenic walk, there's a lovely reserve with boardwalks through wetland areas teeming with wildlife like Pukekos and ducks, leading to the beach. Overall, Long Bay Beach offers a wonderful mix of beach fun and natural beauty for dogs and their owners alike!

Dogs allowed off leash after 5pm during summer. Upon entering the part of the beach that allows dogs there is usually signage to update dog owners. They also have a stick library on the way to the beach for dogs to enjoy 🤎

Great beach. Very long. Lots of other great dogs here. FYI, no dogs on the grass / reserve. Not even in cars passing through. The first 2 carparks (from Torbay end) are dog allowed parking. There's a lovely little reserve before the beach if walking to the beach from Torbay. It has boardwalks going through a swamp land with Pukekos & Ducks. Passes under the bridge on the main road into a grassy reserve, which takes you to Beach road just up from Long Bay Beach.
