If you're a dog owner in Auckland, St Heliers Park is a fantastic spot for you and your furry friend! Located at 26 The Parade, this dog-friendly area offers a range of amenities to make your visit enjoyable. With an off-leash area and a beautiful open field, your dog can socialize and roam freely. There's a convenient water fountain to keep them hydrated, shaded seating areas for you to relax, and even a swimming area for a splash in the ocean. While the park doesn't have some features like fully fenced sections or dog-friendly trails, the welcoming atmosphere makes it a popular choice for dog owners, especially early in the morning and in the evening when many dogs gather. Keep an eye on the water conditions, as sea lettuce can create some muddy spots when the tide is out. With free parking, wheelchair access, and stunning views of Rangitoto, it’s no wonder this park holds a 5-star rating from DogPack reviews. Plus, with ample friendly people around and lots of cafes nearby, you and your pup will have a great time exploring!

This more a review of St Heliers Beach. It’s our go-to dog walk and I’d rather drive 5 minutes to get here than walk around our neighbourhood! Very dog friendly with lots of doggy friends early in the morning ( from 6 am onwards) and in the evening. Equal numbers of on and off-lead doggos. Swimming is good except keep clear of the boat ramp. Sea lettuce means lots of bird life but it’s also muddy for doggos when the tide is out. You can walk around the point too at low tide or walk the boardwalk. Lots of nice cafes. Parking is ample and friendly people. Lots of seats. Greats views of Rangitoto.
