Welcome to the official dog park located at 60 Minogue Drive, Te Rapa, Hamilton! This park is a great spot for your furry friend to play, featuring a fully fenced, off-leash area where dogs can roam freely. With amenities like a water fountain, shaded seating areas, and a double-gated entrance, you can enjoy peace of mind while your dog enjoys their time. Free parking is available nearby, and entrance to the park is free, making it easy to pop by for a visit. Keep in mind that while the park has some wonderful features, there are a few things to consider. Some recent reviews suggest that the grassy areas can be sparse, especially in summer, and the mix of small and larger dogs can lead to unpredictable interactions, so be prepared to keep an eye on your pup. It's recommended to ensure your dog is well-trained, as there have been instances of overly excited larger dogs running around. Also, while the open field provides plenty of space for games and exercise, there are currently no designated areas for small dogs or specific obstacles. Enjoy your visit, and make sure your pup stays safe and happy!

It's a fenced area which is good and has shaded areas but there is hardly any grass. I'm guessing because it is summer. If you have a small dog it's best to take them to the large field area that is outside as there are some bigger dogs there and it's a worry when the owners don't know how to control them. I spoke to a few pet owners and they have told me they prefer not to take them into the dog park and it can be really unpredictable. I feel if you are taking your dog to a dog park where you know where will be other dogs please train them properly or enroll them in an obedience course as there was also nearly a dog fight yesterday. My dog nearly got trampled over as a few of the bigger dogs were over excited and ran over to her. The good thing about this area is because it is right next to a field there is a lot of space for parking. It's by the little trains.
