Nestled in Spennymoor, the park at PC42+G6 is a welcoming haven for dog owners and their furry companions. With its dog-friendly trail, open fields, and shaded seating areas, it offers an ideal environment for a leisurely stroll or an energetic romp with your pup. While dogs must be kept on-leash, the park’s amenities provide a great space for both you and your pet to unwind. Please note that it is free to enter, making it an accessible option for a day out. However, it’s advisable to be cautious of occasional debris, such as broken glass, and to keep an eye out during busier times, especially around school hours. Though the park has some limitations—like the lack of a fully fenced area or designated zones for big and small dogs—it still boasts a charming atmosphere, earning an average rating of 3 stars based on user feedback. The open fields are particularly pleasant for allowing your dog to explore, but vigilance is recommended due to signs of dirt bike tracks and the presence of other park-goers. If you’re interested in the history of this space, the area surrounding Spennymoor has deep roots tied to the coal mining industry, which greatly influenced the local community and landscape. Today, this park serves as a reminder of the region's transformation into a recreational space, allowing visitors to enjoy both nature and the rich history of the area.

Nice walk and fairly quiet. There were some teens around in the woods, some broken glass in the grass / on fallen trees and signs of recent dirt bike tracks. So be vigilant and if your dog is nervous, perhaps go in school hours.
