On leash only, but the park is beautiful! Plenty of options for trail difficulty and length. When I lived a bit closer to it I was there at least once a week! Weekends are by reservation only (placer county website, fees) because it’s become SO popular, but weekdays are free rein! To clarify, there are fees on weekends but no fees on weekdays ❤️
