If you're a dog owner looking for a great outdoor spot in Florence, Alabama, McFarland Park is a fantastic choice. This dog-friendly park is located by the stunning Tennessee River and boasts well-maintained grounds and beautiful views. While dogs must be kept on a lead, you and your furry friend can enjoy the waterfront access and explore the scenic paved trail that leads to a children's playground. Additionally, there are picnic tables near the playground and several covered pavilions further along the river, making it an ideal place for a sunset dinner or family outing. Although the park does not have a fenced dog area, many visitors appreciate the spaciousness and natural beauty it offers. Be mindful of local fishermen when walking along the shores, but overall, McFarland Park is a popular destination for dog owners who want to enjoy a leisurely day outdoors with their pets. With amenities like a professional disc golf course, a marina, and the nearby Stanfield's River Bottom Grille, there’s something for both you and your dog to enjoy!

McFarland Park is a wonderful, impeccably maintained Tennessee River waterfront public park in Florence. It is k-9 friendly to those who keep their humans on a lead!! Within its boundaries are an impressive professional grade disc golf course, marina, Stanfield's River Bottom Grille and the Florence, Lauderdale County Visitor's Center along with many additional amenities. Our 4 paws are currently restricted to the outdoor areas which include waterfront access (mind the fishermen with whom we share these shores), a short paved trail leading to a children's playground and what seems like a never-ending casual walk "down river". While there isn't a fenced dog area, it has been a fantastic place we regularly enjoy & hosts a beautiful picnic or sunset dinner! Tables are both near the children's playground east of the marina and several covered pavilions "down river" to the west.
