Located at 4594 Paradise Knolls in Castro Valley, CA, this official dog park is a great spot for dog owners looking for a space where their furry friends can romp and play. The park features two separate gated areas for small and large dogs, allowing for a safer environment based on your dog's size and playstyle. Users appreciate the park's beautiful ambiance, with plenty of trees and areas for dogs to explore, as well as shaded spots for owners to relax. Amenities include picnic tables and benches for seating, along with water stations to keep your pets hydrated. While many reviews commend the park for its friendly atmosphere, spaciousness, and community spirit—with regulars often contributing toys—there are some concerns. Some users note instances of dog fights in the large dog area and suggest keeping an eye on interactions. Additionally, there's a mention of a hole in the fence on the big dog side, covered temporarily, pointing to a need for awareness of safety conditions. Overall, it’s considered one of the nicer dog parks in the area, providing a blend of play and socialization for both dogs and their owners.

Really nice park, love all the trees and areas for the dogs to explore! There are four nice picnic tables and 2 fixed benches to sit. Small dog side has a nice rock formation for climbing and is very clean. I would give 5 stars but there was a hole in the fence on the big dog side. It was covered with orange temporary fencing and was loose.
Nicest dog park in the area, dogs and people are generally friendly. Big dog side can get rowdy but then again so does the small dog side. We hop between the two gated sides when necessary. There are plenty of tennis balls and some rope toys, regulars sometimes bring new toys to leave behind. Plenty of shaded areas to sit and water stations to hydrate on both sides. It is mostly dirt and rock but both sides are large for optimal sniffing and exploring!
Quiet neighborhood park next to a middle school. Pro: small and big dog park, large area, good for fetch, easy parking, generally friendly crowd. Con: usually poop left around, dog fights often in big dog park, friend of mine got a torn ligament and the owner never fessed up about it to take care of medical costs, can get a little muddy after rain on the sides and slopes.
Sloped dirt/gravel footing. No puddles after rain. Not too dusty in the summer. Some shade in summer.
