The park also boasts a dog-friendly trail and an open field, perfect for carefree runs and games of fetch. Plus, it’s wheelchair accessible and has a double-gated entrance for added safety. Although there are some amenities you may find at other parks, such as separate areas for big and small dogs, shaded spots, or swimming areas, Stones River Greenway still provides a clean and inviting environment. Past visitors have appreciated the well-maintained space and the beautiful views of the nearby dam. Just keep in mind that items like poop bags and on-leash restrictions aren't provided, so you might want to bring your own supplies. With a solid 4-star rating based on two DogPack reviews, it's clear that this park is a beloved spot for community pups and their owners. An interesting tidbit about the Stones River Greenway is its rich historical backdrop; the area was pivotal during the Civil War and features remnants of that history along the scenic trails. This park not only provides a fun place for dogs to play but also connects you with a piece of Nashville's heritage while enjoying the outdoors with your pet.

Beside the dam, would be able to watch the gates open and rush water out. Believe there is a trail as well to the right between the park and river but haven’t been personally. Park was clean and a few seating areas as well as a picnic table but personally I like areas of privacy included like the one behind Mcgavock HS. Open and can see everything in the fenced area. Dog water fountains included as well.
